New York City Restaurants

Daniel
60 E. 65th Street
Tel: 212-288-0033
Savor award – winning Chef Daniel Boulud’s seasonal French cusine inspired by the market in the Venetian Renaissance style dinning , dinner served Monday thru Saturday.

The Half King
505 W.23rd Street
212-462-4300
www.thehalfking.com
For his bar, "The Perfect Storm" author partnered with pals Nanette Burstein and Scott Anderson as well as former St. Dymphna's owner Jerome O'Connor. More low-key than a frat crowd and more highbrow than a pub, Half King is enlivened by a splash of media people. (Nowadays, without the press hats, they're hard to spot.)
Near west Chelsea's galleries and photo studios, the bar also attracts an art crowd, although the cocktail prices may discourage folks living a bohemian lifestyle. Strapping Junger is not at all standoffish with guests. His occasional presence confers a literary aura on the room. Breakfast and pub suppers from 9am to 2am, along with buy backs at the bar, enhance the pleasant mood.

Indian Food
East 6th Street
Basically this area is all Indian restaurants and almost everyone of them is Excellent and relatively inexpensive!!

YumYum
658 9th Ave & 46th Streeet
212-956-0639

Yum Yum 3 is the third and most exciting yet of the Yum Yum family of restaurants. Conveniently located at corner of 46th and 9th avenues, we offer the most authentically traditional Thai menu and most affordable prices you can find in Manhattan. This is one of Bill’s favorite places to for lunch.

Magnolia Bakery
401 Bleecker Street
212-462-2572

These desserts have a cultish following, and it's easy to understand why--nothing on the menu administers anything less than a spectacular dose of sugar. Addictive red velvet cupcakes come slathered in an icing that's as pure an expression of sugar, vanilla and butter as you're going to find. Or try a slice of the decadent "cherries jubilee," a moist mini cheesecake or the legendary banana pudding. Cakes are also excellent, particularly the gorgeous German chocolate cake rich with coconut, caramel and pecans. For fans of Sex and the City, this little gem was featured in one of the episodes.
