Flat Iron Building
5th Ave & Broadway at E.22nd Street
This building is one of the city’s most famous landmarks and was added to the national register of historic places in 1979.
New York Life Insurance Building
Located the full block between 26th & 27th Streets and Madison Ave & 5th Ave
This building was designed in 1929. It is 40 stories with a gilded pyramid on the top of the building.

This area is located near the southwest entrance to Central Park and has recently been renovated. The Met has the finest collection of American art in the world, a selection of Egyptian art as well as an array of European painting and sculpture. There is a wonderful rooftop patio that features amazing views of Central Park as well as a bar. This museum has a pay as you wish policy, the suggested donation is $20.

Today, although most citizens trace the beginnings of their American journeys to the urban rather than the rural environment and most descend from immigrants, The Tenement’s landmark tenement building at 97 Orchard Street is the first homestead of urban working class and poor immigrant people preserved and interpreted in the United States. Located on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, an immigrant portal for almost two centuries, 97 Orchard Street was home to an estimated 7,000 people from more than 20 nations between 1863 and 1935.
