There is always something going on in and around Woodstock, so your first port of call should always be the town's Visitor Information Centre, situated in the heart of the town at the Oxfordshire Museum, just across the road from the Bear Hotel. The staff are there to make sure you have the very best experience possible whilst visiting Woodstock, so make sure you get the most out of your visit by getting that all important 'insider information' on the very best way to enjoy this lovely town and the delightful surrounding countryside that is the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.
The centre also stocks a wide range of walking and cycling routes and maps, along with books of local history and interest and some great gifts to take home as a reminder of your visit. You can even purchase tickets for local events at the centre, so it really is a 'must do' port of call for any visitor to the town.

The ancestral stately home of the 11th Duke of Marlborough - the Palace was designed and built by Sir John Vanbrugh, and the park by 'Cabability' Brown, on a grand scale. Blenheim is also the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, who is buried in nearby Bladon.
300 years of enticing tales. A new permanent visitor experience is open upstairs within the heart of the Palace where visitors can discover more details about life at Blenheim Palace over the last three centuries. 'Blenheim Palace: The Untold Story' brings to life enticing tales of the dramatic history, events and of the people who have lived here, through the eyes of the household staff.
The Palace was created a World Heritage Site in 1987 and is surely Britain's Greatest Palace.
Along with the guided tours of the state rooms and long libruary a new state-of-the-art 'Untold Story' exhibition within the Palace opened in 2007 using animated figures and innovative video and projection technology.

In 1981 Henrietta Spencer – Churchill formed her own Interior Design Company, “Woodstock Designs”. The Company operates from two outlets, the main shop and showroom being based in the centre of Woodstock and a subsidiary studio / office in Fulham, London.
From these premises, commissions are undertaken world –wide, both in the Domestic field and Hotels and Offices. Woodstock Designs specialises in the renovation of country house properties, including all aspects of building work to a complete Interior Design service. Woodstock Designs is a stockist for all the main fabric companies, including Colefax and Fowler, Zoffany, Osborne and Little and Pierre Frey.
